Siyabend — the hero of the folk epic Siyabend û Xecê, one of the best-loved Kurdish love stories. The tale exists in many regional variants; in all of them Siyabend is a lover without reservation and the ending is tragic. As a name it knots love and the inevitability of inherited story together.
