Etymology
Root: parvīn · Persian
Perwîn is the Pleiades — the cluster of seven stars in Taurus, visible to the naked eye and significant in nearly every traditional astronomy. The Persian parvīn (پروین) is a classical name; in Kurdish poetry the cluster appears as a sister-figure to the moon.
